I'll Stand

I'll Stand Written by: Jonathan Pierce, Mason Douglas, Russ Davidson (Verse 1) Man, I just don't get…how you people forget All the wars fought, all the lives lost so we can…be here where we're at We're free to speak…and yeah you're free to kneel But that ain't the way I'm ever gonna show the kind of pride that I feel (Chorus) I'll stand…every time they play that Star spangled banner I'll stand…every time they fold that flag And put it in a crying mother's hand Every time they wanna rewrite our history and break this promised land I'm telling you man They can take the low road but don't tread on me Cause I'll stand (Verse 2) Stand for anyone…with a flag on their sleeve For the frontline heroes real Americans like me I'll Stand up to the school board to question what they said We gotta watch what their putting in the next generation's head (Chorus) I'll stand…every time they play that Star spangled banner I'll stand…every time they fold that flag And put it in a crying mother's hand Every time they try to rewrite our history and break this promised land…I'm telling you man They can take the wrong road but don't tread on me Cause I'll stand (Bridge) I'm proud this is my home…from every small town to big city I don't have to stand alone…Cause I got God and y'all here with me (Chorus) We'll stand…every time they play that Star Spangled Banner, I'll stand Every time they fold that flag And put it in a crying mother's hand They won't break this promised land…I'm telling you man They can take the low road but for God and Country I'll stand (Outro) I will stand with hand across my heart when I see the Stars and Stripes Honor those who fought and died for us so we can have a better life
